Unfortunately algorithmic trading is a necessity in today's market. The problem is not algo trading, but the lack of bullet proof safeguards to prevent computer glitches from resulting in run away markets like we saw last week with Knight.

I like your post. As an economics student I can see the economic models being taught in the classroom are too simplistic. I am going to buy this book, it sounds very interesting.

I have never read the book “Dark Pools”, but I heard about the rumors about the books. I am really not able to say that it may be possible that any monster is threatening the worldwide financial system.
